Stay Cool Under the Heat of Summer Season

Homeowner checking on house temperatureWhat do you do to beat the summer heat? The sun and the hot air can feel overbearing when you lack ways to cool off yourself and your home. With the methods below, ranging from a bowl of ice in front of a fan to glass wool insulation, however, you can easily beat that the summer heat.

Hydrate constantly

For personal cooling, you simply have to drink water — not beer, not soda, but water — throughout the day. Water keeps your body cool even under the heat of the sun. You could still enjoy a bottle of beer or a can of soda if you want, but you have to make sure that you also drink water constantly.

Use a bowl of ice

The summer season can make you want to lounge outdoors, but the heat can prevent you from pushing through with it. You can lounge around, however, using a fan and a bowl of ice. Place the bowl in front of the fan for instantly cool air.

Cool your dog

If you have a dog, it suffers from the heat as much as you do. To help your furry friend cool off, you can freeze treats in blocks of ice and feed them with it. You can also simply go for a swim, assuming your dog loves water. Otherwise, a bath will suffice.

Install insulation

Now, your home itself can be aggravating the summer heat when you lack some things. Insulation, for example, can be non-existent in your walls and ceiling. You can keep the heat out of your home by simply adding glass wool insulation.

Use air conditioning or trap in the cool night air

If you have air conditioning, use it. If not, you could consider purchasing one. Aside from air conditioning, you can keep your windows open during the evening to let cool air in. Once you wake up in the morning, before the heat comes, you could close your windows to keep inside the cool air from the night before.

You can now enjoy the summer season without the heat bothering you.
